#36 and counting!

Another day and yet another "13 lined" ground squirrel! I'm know up to #36 as far a live trapping these little hole diggers! It will be interesting to see where the total tally will be by fall!

This is a portrait of one of the many Killdeer fledglings which are now able to take flight when called upon.

These horses grabbed my attention as I drove by.

My dad built me a live trap when I was a kid and I set it out at our cabin. I started catching a chipmunk every 5-10 minutes. It took me a while but I realized I was catching the same chipmunk and he was getting a lot of free meals out of it... Oh well, I had fun playing with that trap. Are you sure they are all different squirrels? I have seen gray squirrels in town with spray painted tails, I think someone was doing and experiment....

Yes Jay they're all individuals! Once captured I haul them a fare distance down the road (1/2 mile) and then turn them free! I spoke with my nieghbour the other day and he claims that they're getting over run with them! My response...you don't say!
