LMITOUT
There is a recent report saying that someone has discovered how to hack the popular iPhone. Doesn't matter which model, old or new, they are potentially vulnerable to a simple text message that may allow the hacker to take control of the device. iPhone owners are instructed to power down the device ASAP if they notice something strange with a recent text message. They are then urged to head to their nearest AT&T store and exchange it for a Blackberry which is renowned for their Fort Knox-like security. (This probably should/could have been posted in the equipment forum as well as a heads-up to iPhone users.)
croixflats
What? Security breach! I only have one of those Nonkia's that take pictures and still amazed by the tech behind that. Just joshing of coarse, been looking into to them. Now you got me all paranoid.
Raider4ever
ANY phone with data (i.e. internet) possibilities can be hacked (that makes just about all of them since 2007). You roll the dice with everything internet related. You just have to think what your odds are. And the odds of YOUR phone getting hacked are two: Slim and none with Slim on a fast horse out of town. Don't sweat it.
Swimbait2009
Apple addressed the specific security hole in the OS. It was presented to Apple by a group that attempts to find these weaknesses in programs in order to inform the manufacturers of the problem. Apple addressed it very quickly once it was made public. They do not believe that any iPhone was actually affected by this.
