Green Heron adult

On my way out of town to check on a GBH rookery, I spotted this guy at our local golf course. My wife couldn't figure out why I was turning into the gold course when I don't golf. I got a couple shots off before he flew off. On the way back into town, I noticed he had returned. I took my wife home and came back and got a few more shots. Same bird - different times and of course, different light.

Love the drop of water hanging off its beak in photo 1. Nice work on a neat bird.

Thanks, MJ. They are kind of goofy looking, but I also think they're neat. Not only that, but they're certainly not common around here.
