8 inch Kobalt bolt cutter. HAS ANYONE USED THESE?

I paid about $40 for mine at least 5 or 6 years ago. I tie my own bucktails and used to use cheap bolt cutters to cut wire and was going through a cheap pair at least once a year until I bought the Knipex. I would only cut a few hooks a year with the old cheap ones but they were tough to do and I am not sure I could have ever cut one with one hand. I have been using the Knipex for about 5 years in the boat now and also for cutting wire on my bucktails that I make and it isn't even showing signs of wear yet.

If I'm ever unfortunate enough to be attached to green fish by a musky bait, what kind of tool do I want in the boat to separate me from that situation?

That line right there just made my decision. I was fooling around with some Spanky Fireballs the other night and stuck myself on accident - good grief those hooks hurt! If they were attached to an angry mouth full of teeth and one got seriously imbedded in your hand that would SUCK. Getting out the CC right now and am looking online......

Knipex period!!! You get what you pay for!!! Is it really worth loosing that 50, because you want to save money!!!

very true. I've been fortunate enough to not need a boltcutter on any of the fish we've put into my boat(or on anyone in my boat-knock on wood) but I know that day will come so my Knipex is in the mail.
