PerchPounder
While I have no first hand info. I know there were people fishing all over on both bays. Spirit is a bit difficult but not too bad to atleast give it a try. I know that both gills and perch have been biting on Emerson.
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted March 22, 2011 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted March 22, 2011 Vehicle travel is no longer advised on West Okoboji. Northern Pike fishing has been good. Anglers are reporting some northern pike on tip-ups in shallow water in the bays. bluegill are in the bays being caught with small ice jigs tipped with wax worms/wigglers or plastics. Bluegills are still aggressively biting, but sorting is needed for larger fish. Some anglers are reporting good catches of perch off of Triboji access, Eagle Point and Haywards Bay.Ice conditions are still good once you get out on area lakes; however extreme caution should be used near shorelines and accesses. Lakes are no longer safe to drive on. Use caution in the next week as ice conditions are changing rapidly. Also, remember that walleye season is now closed on Big Spirit, East Okoboji, and West Okoboji until May 7.
