Late summer pike.... Tips, advice, etc.

Need some tips, advice, presentation, depths, lures, technique, etc. for catching late summer pike. End of July, beginning of August. Any helpful info. would be greatly appreciated!!!

I found em in rivers up north pretty well. Look for colder water. In rivers, where trout streams or springs enter the river.

In lakes, deeper water. My favorite late summer tactic is a deep crank, DT 16s produced great for me in the metro last year

Troll a few feet off bottom in the outer weedline. Our lake is deep and clear, so that's about 16-19 feet for me. Deep Husky Jerk in blue/chrome is my money lure. I'm on my third one. My first one has only about 40% of the paint left on it, and is in "revered" status and kept dry.

Late summer pike are not picky on speed either. Don't be afraid to kick it up between 3-5 mph.

Also try trolling with your crank close to the boat in the prop wash. I usually set one of our lines up this way if I'm trolling 2 or 3 lines.
