fishing tech
I picked up my new sportsman 800 on Thursday, installed all my accessories today and I don't think I can weight until next weekend to ride. Is there anywhere close to the east metro to ride. I just want to get out and get some break in time on the engine. Thanks
SomethingFishy*
St. Croix trails out near Hinckley would be your best bet. We have been conidering heading over there tomorrow. Otherwise buy a WI trail pass for $38.50 and there are lots more options.
fishing tech
Thanks, I was looking at those 2 options. not sure where to get a wisconsin pass. I was also looking at a place down by Fairbault. That would only be about a 45 minute drive for me.
Dave S
Tri County would be the place near Faribault. It's ok if you're just looking to put some time on the machine. But the pit is more tailored to the sport group. Some guys like it, some get bored with it after a couple hours. There is an expansion that opened up to the north east of the original pit with a trail connecting the 2. The last time I was there, there was a couple mudholes and some smaller hills if you want to put the 4x4 system through the paces.
fishing tech
Hi Lep, are the trails there open 24/7? Is there any permit needed?
Dave S
The trails wouldn't be open 24 hours, but it is open year round. I the pit closes around sunset. I'll double check and post back. No permit needed.Tri County is not the place to be riding at night anyhow. There's some steep drop-offs that could put a guy into a world of hurt.I checked the DNR site and there are no operating hours listed. I think there are signs at the parking area.
