Another Lowrance HDS Question

Muskiebait

Question

Anybody have them mounted in dash? I was wondering if they would have trouble with the GPS if mounted in dash? If I replace my indash depthfinder with the HDS will the internal GPS still work???

I would contact Lowrance in regards to this before you start to cut up tour dash. I do believe that with the internal reciever, one should try to keep it out in the open as much as possible to recieve the signal.

The HDS has a built-in gps receiver, it's at the top-center-front of the unit and is designed for in-dash mounts. And HDS units are easy to do in-dash mounts with, the bezel is removable so it's very easy to screw them in place for a good solid mount.

I have a customer that mounted an HDS-8 in-dash under a hardtop and he said he has no problem locking onto a gps signal.
