Lake 26 WI

Recommended Posts

Anyone ever fished this lake for northerns? I'm heading there this weekend and wondering if the northern fishery is any good. I've heard some rumors about big fish, but not sure if it's legite or just fisherman tales.

Never fished it, but it is a muskie water so either A) they are mistaking northerns for muskie or B) it behaves in a similar way to other area muskie waters where the northern population is low with mostly larger fish present. Or C) it's just a fish tale. Muskie will be open this weekend so knock yourself out with whatever baits you see fit.

Pike population isn't great, I;m sure there are better lakes around.

I'll be up there as well looking for Muskie. Boat launch is terrible and the last three or four years the amount of jetski and waterskiing has doubled.

Very clear lake with stunted bass population.

If your around the south bay (resort bay) stop by and let me know if you are having any luck. We're in the log home by the yellow cabin.

Good Luck!

Good deal. Im heading up there with a couple of buddies, we are the the cabin the farthest out on the peninsula right there by the channel between the two parts of the lake. Not sure what boat we'll be taking yet
