Lake: Austin

Dates: 5/31/09-6/5/09

Group: Troupis

Report: Weather changed every day, including snow, rain, sleet, and mixed with a bit of sun. Fishing was, as a result, not very good. Enough to eat and a few northern 30-36 inches. Givin it snowed in June and in the 20s for temps, it seems a bit of global warming would be a welcomed change.

Lake: Otatakan

Dates: 5/30/09-6/7/09

Group: Benjamin

Report: We have done many trips to various outposts around the area and have never experienced the attention to the detail by anyone to make our fishing trip as enjoyable and comfortable as L & M. From the intial contact, to the pleasant and relaxed check in procedure, the plane ride to and from the cabin/lake, it all focused on A-1 service provided by a group of people who want their customers to get the best possible Canadian adventure. Fishing was good on the nice weather days and slower on the nasty weather days. Fish are starting to transition from the rivers to the lake.

Thanks for the reports.Going to Little Shab June 16th to the 23rd.

Have you ever fished it? Looking for the Northerns, any advise on lures? I'll be getting some white and green jigs today. Can't wait to leave.

Hello ARNE, Glad you like the reports. I cant say I ever fished Little Shab. Just Shabumeni (Shab). Its the lake down stream from Little Shab. I was there actually today doing camp work. Walleyes are still heavy in the rivers at Shab. They are not trying too hard for the pike there, mainly walleye fishing. I would suggest the run of the mill lures for pike. spoons and rapelas. I like the K-B spoon and Little Cleo spoon and even Doctor spoon. Many big pike get caught by accident too, fishing for walleye with a jig lots of people will get the big pike that way as well.

With the spring we have had, I doubt the weed growth will be in full swing during your dates. Water is still has a ways to warm up yet.

Hope your trip goes well

Lake: Dobie

Dates: 6/6/09-6/13/09

Report: Trip started out cool, with overcast, NE wind from Saturday through Wed. Then varible winds with scattered showers, did warm up on Friday before we left on Saturday. First fished the inflow river with leeches and plastic. Scattered, mostly 16-19 inches, afew 20 inch walleyes. Midweek we tried down the lake at the big reef and various points we've found productive in prior years, walleyes scattered with slow action.
