Zoom won't work

I have a Lowrance LMS 522c unit and when I zoom in , it holds there for a few seconds and then zooms out all the way. It will not hold that spot where I zoom into.

Is there a setting I can change to fix this or is the unit in need of repair.

I guess I should have reset my unit and then I would not have had to ask this question.
