jhol
Well it was a short and sweet season, this is the first year I applied and got drawn for season A. The birds were all grouped up and there was little talkin in the afternoon, I did not make it out opening morning, however opening night I put to bed a group of toms. The next morning found me in my spot well before light and I got to watch a great show. Just before light like clockwork they all flew down. The Toms made their way to a field on the other side of the fence where I could not shoot and strutted for the hens. There was also a lot of pushing around between toms, I think they are still establishing dominance. There was no response from my calls prior to fly down. Once they were in the field I did get one response from a very upset hen, that was it. After about a half hour a late rising tom surprised me by flying down well after the sun was up and brought the whole group over to him, in the process this guy got close enough to take. I would think by the end of this week they should be split up and really chasin hens. Good Luck to everybody and be safe.
