Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Walleyeboy, moraine is a good spot. Where on the lake is good can be the tricky part. I fish both sides of the lake and have had good luck with the perch, gills, and crappie. The occassional toothy critter too. Tip ups work well for them. Just about anyplace in madision co. is good fishing. I haven't really been out that way yet so I can't tell you what has god ice yet. Maybe someone else will help you there. We do a lot of drive by's to see and take out the spud to test it if we don't see tracks or traps. Keep in touch, maybe we'll meet on the ice sometime.

Doesn't look god for me. Promised a friend I'd help him out in the AM and don't know how long I'll be needed. Dinner at my sister's is later. If I shake free in time, I'll call you. I've got your # in my cell. I'm free Christmas morning and noon and then Friday, Sat and Sun.

    • Well to hens came out in the morning behind me eating theb a big tom pushed 4 more hens out the pther two joined them and the went the wrong way i should of set up 20 more yards down and i would of had a great shot! Stupid birds
    • Okay guys, we need a name.  I won't register my bird or tell the story until we do. (sounds like blackmail, don't it ?  )   Somebody throw one out and it shall be done.
    •   True that!
    • Starting at Daga (this week) you have to have your drivers entered 30 minutes prior to the first practice. It used to be you had to have picked them the night before qualifying, so if practice was on Friday and qualifying was Sat. you could use practice to help make entries. Now it will all be done before the first practice.
    • Scoot, I have had the same issues with both my 11 year old boy and 14 year old girl.  They have both ended up with opportunities each years.  Frustrating as it my be, it is still worth it.  Thats why we have teams to pick each other up, i might bet, being a Scoot child, she will impress us by the end.   Good luck out there!
    • I'll try to get some pictures posted today. I also had Morgan out on Saturday and she just didn't have the patients 2 stick it out shoot a bird. She made it until 8:15 and was ready to quit. I tried like heck to get her to stay but she was tired and whiny and ready to go. Seemed like a time where it was best to try to accept losing the battle but hopefully winning the war so we packed up and headed home. After I loaded the truck we turned around and went past the spot our blind had just been and there was a nice tom 20 yards away from where we just left. Doah!   I'm a little concerned about getting her out enough to have a legitimate chance with her. I kind of regret including her on the team because I'm not sure she will hunt enough to have a legit chance. 10 year old little girls have a mind of their own no doubt! She's not nearly as driven and single track minded as Ryan is when it comes to hunting.
    • Great job- Love to hear the kids getting birds.   Congrats
    •     Time to explore other states I think...
    • Thanks. I decided to go with my gut, and ordered medium light action 8'6" Depthmaster rods. Spent some time trolling with them the other day, and I think they'll be fine. Just gotta remember to be careful with the larger fish around the boat when netting. Now if I could just better understand seasonal locations/presentations for my local walleye, I'd be all set! Trolled for 4.5 hrs without so much as a nibble yesterday. Trolled various cranks and harnesses the entire time, at different depths/speeds (1.0-1.5 mph with harnesses, and 1.8 -2.4 with cranks), hoping to make contact with one. I did find the Precission Trolling app to be pretty darn accurate with my dive curves though. So that was refreshing ... :-)
    • Nice bird! After my uneventful day Sat I gave Sunday a break Going out Monday morning to see If I can tag one.
