fishandshroom
This may be a dumb question but what shell do you use for coyotes in your shot gun? Also what gauge do ya use? THANKS
carpshooterdeluxe
that all depends on what range you are trying to take your yote at. 12 gauge is preferable, but ive killed em with a 20 and 3" 4 buck. my go to load is 12 gauge 3.5" 00 buck or 3.5" 4 buck, but then again i dont really harvest em for the furs. ive shot em with goose loads, turkey loads, and pheasant loads (close range while pheasant hunting.) the key is to pattern different loads and see what will work best for your given situation. Cedarcreek
I have shot yotes at 50 yards with those dead coyote shells work great also a lead n #2 or larger have been good in the past.
carpshooterdeluxe
i forgot to mention, if you can find it, lead BB is AWESOME with the right choke. i know winchester still loads it in their supreme line; just hard to find. ive thumped a lot of fox with lead BB's. (good for late season roosters too!!!)

RBuker
BB or #4 buck. Use lead or hevi-shot. Steel is terrible and 00 buck is terrible.
carpshooterdeluxe
BB or #4 buck. Use lead or hevi-shot. Steel is terrible and 00 buck is terrible. what caused you to form that particular opinion? im just curios because for my gun, ive got steel and 00 buck loads that both pattern excellent.
