Rmac
I had to do that. All joking aside that is a wicked finish on that bait. I like it. Since I have your attention, you seem like the right guy to ask, What all would a guy need to start tying his own bucktails. I know this has been covered before and I have a decent understanding of what components I would need. I am just a little unsure off how to bend those thick wires effectively. Any method or suggestions on what to buy (and where) are appreciated. Can you tell I am already anticipating (dreading) the bordem of winter. Shawn Kellett
We worked with the DNR to trap net the pond and only came up with 40 fish Right now we're looking for a better and closer pond. If anyone has access or knows of such a pond in or close to the metro drop me a line: [email protected]. On another positive note we've been putting more tagged fish into the bear and tonka. I'll have a full report in another thread when I get some time.
polarsusd81
Has that pond froze over yet? I bet the weeds are laying down nice out there right now. I am sure we could get a group of guys together for the weekend to go net. If you shoot me an email I could have someone drive by and check things out. Couple relatives in the area with some waders.[email protected]
Shawn Kellett
We put 12 trap nets in it for a week. I think we pretty much cleared it out. Even if we could get another 10 fish out it would only equal $130 worth of fish. We'd burn more then that up in gas.I've found a couple of new ponds by me in Excelsior and have just shown them to the area fisheries specialist. We're going to take a peak at them over the winter to see if they'd be a possibility.
