hitthebricks
My dad has a 1984 Merc. 115hp that has always started good and idles well but stalls out of the hole or runs and accelerates roughly up to 3/4 throtle, then runs fine from there. Plugs, coil and wires have all been replaced, any ideas? Thanks,HTB

marine_man
Out of synch or something floating in the carbs that plugs the high speed jet.... marine_man
hitthebricks
what is "out of sync" and how do you fix itThanks HTB
marine_man
Synching the carbs involves adjusting the carbs so they're all providing the same fuel / air mixture, and that one's not running richer or leaner than the other. Before I would start messing with that (since presumably you haven't done anything to the carbs that would make them out of synch) I would question how clean the carbs are.Did this problem come on suddenly, or over time? Is the motor used regularily, or does it sits for weeks? Do you use fuel stabilizer?marine_man
