Road kill bear

On the way to winnie last weekend,I saw a dead bear in the ditch on 35 by sandstone.I've never seen a roadkill bear, but these things happen.On the way back, we saw 2 between moose lake and pine city. Is it just me or is this because of the weird weather we've had lately, or is the bear population up?

Bear population is up and with the cool Spring, I am sure they need to travel further to find good grits. Too bad they meet their maker this way but I guees that is all part of the cycle!

The bears came out early this Spring. The DNR said the road kill bears were feeding on car kill deer from the Winter. Bear decompose faster than any other mammal I know of but their hides last a long time.

Heard a rumor that a huge bear was killed on 94 near Hudson WI this spring. 500+ lbs.

I saw a live one crossing the road the other day. Pretty cool.

I was up in the bagley area over the weekend and seen a huge sow with three cubs, maybe 100 yards from the road. The sow had a great chocolate coat. pretty cool to see them in the wide open like that.
