chillincarp870
I have been seeing a lot of carp and thinking i want to catch one on a rod and reel. Where do i start? anchor and throw out a lidy rig style with corn or crawlers? Bobber rig?
HuskerBen
Keep it simple. Smaller hook (I use a #4 or #6), as little weight as you can get away with, and bait. Carp will eat most anything on occassion, but they seem to prefer corn, doughballs, and crawlers. And when you set the hook, hold on. It's a blast. JimBuck
Like HuskerBen suggested....keep it simple. I try to avoid weights too as there mouth cavity is very soft and they will spit anything out that seems suspicious. It's a great sport fish to get into. Enjoy.
