buddy heater

straydog

Question

My buddy heater seams really noisy on low, I don't seem to remember it being this way last year but it could be my imagination. Also even to get it lit I have to tip it forword a little bit or it will not ignite. Is anyone elses like this or is mine goofy.

Are you running it from a 1# bottle or from a bigger refillable tank? It sounds like a fuel/air problem, and sometimes the hoses from the bigger tanks don't fit tightly on the Buddy Heaters. The first one I bought last year was defective and would not light at all, but the one I have now is almost silent.

I was out in the house this morning and played with it, if I tip it forword to at least a 45 degree angle it runs quiet. Its almost like its choking for fuel. I have a hose to run the biger tanks but I am using the 1lb cylinders now and i've tried a few diferant tanks.

thanks for the help

Yup mine does both of those things you're describing. Sometimes I have to tip it forward a bit to get it to go, but it goes.

On low mine squeals or goes "eeeeeeeeeeeeeek"
My workaround to this "eeeeeeeeek" deal is to turn it just a tad above the "low" setting. Seems to work so far.
