Mike Wallace
I have a 14' Alumacraft that I am tired of tipping over to get the water out. I want to install a drain plug, but don't have any aluminum welding experience. Has anyone ever successfully installed a drain in an aluminum boat without welding and what product did you use? Thanks for any advice you may have.Mike Wallace

jeffreyd
you dont even need to do that. Go to a hydraulic shop and get a bung type fitting. it has a flat nut on the side that would go in the boat and a threaded nipple that will fit though the hole in the boat where the drain is. You then put a nut on the outside and you can get a cap to plug it all up. 5 minutes to install. Used them on fire trucks all the time.. This is the style I've installed before as well.marine_man
