harvey lee
I agree DaveT. All my deer hunting dollars go out of state and have for years.
fletcher
priceless, IA is the bomb right now, IL, KS, etc.any state in the big ten conference can produce a 150" WTMN is no slouch but much of our land lies north with harsher winters and lower carrying capacity but there is not a shortage of quality bucks in MN..........agree on management is keyI am partial to archery but that is not the whole picture for everyone. So a December gun hunt might not work in MN for all.
vister
the only reason midwest states have more bigger deer, is because they are managed better, and have an average older age structure within the herd. long story short, let em go, let em grow!! its not that they have better deer. cripes, MN deer typically out weigh other midwestern deer. now, if they were allowed to reach 4 or 5 or older, nonresidents would be flocking to MN for the buck of a lifetime! Deer have to grow up to produce antlers. when its difficult, and almost impossible to shoot a deer even 4 1/2 years old, its just as difficult shooting a 150 class whitetail!
