Found this "thingadite" while fishing the Root River. Anybody know the correct name?

That's a nice, intact fossil.It's called an ammonite.

Great find! I had a college class on Minnesota fossils, and something like that was simply referred to as a snail fossil (if I remember correctly). I never got to see any nearly as big and well formed as that. Thanks for showing it!

Soon. Maybe I can get my ducks in a row before to long...I'm starting to think my "get up an go"...got up and went....Lots of other life going on this year too. I'm gonna place my traps today if all goes well.
