Chapo
Bought an 02 Alumacraft Trophy with 02 115hp Yamaha. The tilt/trim gauge will barely move off of up when I get the motor as far down as I can. If I understand right the gauge should move all the way over to down when the motor is all the way down. Any ideas what might be wrong or where I could look? Thanks. boatfixer
Is the needle moving at all? It sounds as though the sending unit is out of adjustment or malfunctioning.
marine_man
Your trim sender is located here: Make sure that the ring (item 1) is still rotating when you tip your motor up, and make sure that the wires aren't pinched / broken. marine_man
Chapo
The needle starts moving a little toward down when the motor is completely down.
marine_man
It might just need to be adjusted. Take a look at the pic above and play with it a bit. You should be able to figure it out if it's just an adjustment - loosen the screw on the collar and rotate the collar.marine_man
