Lowrance X-15mt updating through website

Jeff Jr.

Question

I need to update my X-15 through the Lowrance HSOforum. How do I go about doing this? Do I need cables to attach the unit to the computer? Will I have problems if my computer if I have a slow computer?

I'm a fisherman not a computer expert. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Jeff

Bare in mind that lowrance no longer supports the X15 MT.

I had one up until last year and really liked it, until one day it would'nt turn on anymore. Called Lowrance and they gave me the bad news, this unit is obsolete, we no longer support or service it. It was only 5 years old and it cost $1100 new.

They did give me a $200 voucher towards a new color X27C and it is really alot nicer than my X15 was, but another $1000.

I hope this one lasts longer than 5 years!

Both my dad and brother had problems with their X-15 graphs after they updated them. Depedning on which software version, they lost the ability to read depth in shallow water or weeds. If it's working now, then leave it alone. The only reason I would update is if you need to load the more current lakmaster maps.

I'm getting concerned about Lowrance? Why so many issues? If I have issues will they stand behind their product? My reason for the upgrade is so the unit can read the Navionics chip.
