PerchJerker
Lowrance and Humminbird both have good products. Lowrance was and still is much more popular than Humminbird, and HB has had many, many models of fishfinders over the last few years ....... so you probably won't find many people that have used that particular unit which you're asking about. My opinion is that both are good sonars. But in this case the x510c has higher screen resolution (480x480) so it will draw a better picture than the 747c (320x240) --- that will do a better job of showing you fish and baitfish and weeds and target separation, etc. And even though they are the same price now, the x510c was once a $500 unit, it's just marked down now because it's on closeout.Unless you have something against Lowrance, or unless you really want a HB, between the two units you asked about I would choose the Lowrance. Hope that helps and good luck with your decision.
bak2MN
Thanks Perch I have been looking at alot of units these past few weeks and I just dont know what to get. I thougt I had my mind up but then I look at something else than something else well in the end you just get confused as heck. I sure do appreciate your input, and when I do buy I will definately be looking at going through you.
