No EAB this year

Recommended Posts

Heard it on the radio this morning - no EAB outside of CWD units. I think its a fairly drastic change, one I am in favor of. I just wish they hadn't got so carried away in the first place. EAB is a very effective management tool and needs to be used with care.

I am not sure if it got passed, but I also like the idea of limiting any unit to no more than 2 consecutive EAB years.

I musty say, the past few years the DNR issued tags like there was a deer hiding behind every tree. Now we find out they have overestimated the herd by nearly a million! Get ready to go back to the single tag days outside CWD areas.

Funny, I counted 37 deer in my backyard 2 weeks ago. grin

That being said we have seen less deer in our area compared to the year prior, but I also found myself passing on alot of deer during bow season.

Still more than enough deer out for me to spend the money on the tag.
