partridge in the spring

I got these last spring, I mentioned them in another post yesterday,, I forgot I have them loaded to photobucket, and can load all the pics I want! so brace yourself, I'll post a few more while I'm at it!!

taken with my rebel xt and a 70-300 EF lens (low end)

rather dark but was thrilled to get them nontheless!!

Very nice captures of one beautiful grouse, Sue!....captured under hard lighting conditions in a dense balsam thicket....Great colors!...love the habitat shots!...Hard to get these guys on camera at all let alone drumming....

yea I was happy to actually see one! I had never seen one do this before, and how many times have I heard them drum?? it was really exciting for me to get him with a camera too!!

this was taken with my lower end stuff,, now I have upgraded, I hope I can get another opportunity to capture them while they look for their lady friends.
