question on honda 300 fourtrax

have a 300 fourtrax that under deacceleration get a grinding noise, coming from in front, took cover off front driveshaft and noticed shaft is moving. on acceleration it goes forward on deacceleration moves to the rear,to much where i think it is coming out of spline in front.
