How much snow is left around Grand Marais, BWCA?

I was planning on a weekend trip into BWCAW off the Gunflint late in April, want to do some scounting and maybe pick up a shed or two, how much snow is left up there?

Any hope of the snow being gone by April 24th?

I was up the gunflint with my wife last weekend and there was still a ton of snow. Hard to say what this last week's weather did, but I would guess there is still a bunch. Most of the snow should be gone by 4/24, but it will probably be pretty muddy.

April 24, eh? I usually figure ice out to be right around that time... There is still a whole lotta ice up there.

Do a search on "Gunflint Webcams" and you will find a few that you can use to gauge the snow/ice situation.
