Shower not working

So I went to take a shower this morning and when I lifted the knob, the water shut off. I could get some water diverted to the shower head if I lifted the knob part way up but I would get the majority of the water still coming out of the faucet.

It's tub shower. Luckily it's friday and I can take a look at it in the morning. Any ideas on where to start looking? Thanks for the help.

Replace the tub spout you have a bad diverter, you will have to look at what kind of spout you have, some are threaded and others have a allen bolt on the bottom side. If you replace it for one with a allen bolt point the bolt up and snugg it up then twist the sout till it is pointing down and finish tightening it up this will save you a sore neck. If this dosen't work let me know.
