Little Red
I am wondering if there is a good place near Rochester MN to fish from the bank? My dad (age 82) has an appointment at Mayo's the last week of April and he wanted to stop at Lacrosse on the way home to cast for a couple hours, but they only sell 4 day out of state licenses, and he won't pay 24. 00 to fish. We are driving up from Illinos. Crappie is his favorite thing to fish for, but he also likes Bass and Walleye. Any suggestions?

Redbeard5289
Hey Little Red,You might want to repost this in the Rochester-Winona-SE Minnesota Forum at the bottom of the forum list page. There are a great bunch of guys that would definately help you out.If you are looking for a good place that is relatively close so you don't have to walk too much; I would recommend Willow Creek Reservoir, SW of town by the Willow Creek Golf Course. Their parking lot is close to the water and they have a dock out there for handicap accessable fishing. Another place I would recommend is Chester Woods Park (NE of Rochester), Got a reservoir there too, have to pay for a day pass to park there ($5), they do have some trails that wrap around most/part of the lake if you don;t mind walking a little bit. They got a size limit restriction so there are some nice ones to be caught. But definately post in the Rochester-Winona-SE Minnesota Forum. Someone with more knowledge than me will help you out...Redbeard5289
