I used to take a 5gallon pail and put 3 gallons or so worth of dry field corn and a half a pound of brown sugar in it, then fill it with water put the cover on and put it out in the sun. When the cover poped it was time to fish. (or distill wink ) The stuff would ferment and stink, it was great. Just keep it down wind of the house.

It sounds like a good mash. Whiskey/Rum mix. The Carp should love it.

Cracked corn works better for mash. wink But you did not hear that from me. whistle

With the 3 gallons of dry corn and top with water, not all, but a lot of the water gets pulled back into the corn.

It works great as a chum to "seed" an area. And we all know how well corn works on the hook. If it is hook and line carp, this is my go to.
