lakemaster chips

I heard from someone that a person can send a chip into Lakemaster to have it updated to the 2008 series for only $50, does anyone know anything about it?

I tried to find it on their HSOforum but had no luck

Depends on the chip. If it's any of the Lowrance LakeMaster chips then no, you can't upgrade it. If it's a Garmin chip or Lake of the Woods then I think you can upgrade it for less money than a new chip.
