keep your hunting dogs on a leash in town. i'd hate to have what happened happen to your dog. on my way to work at 9pm last thurs a German Shorthair Pointer bolted into the road in front of my car and although i was only up to 20mph after a stop sign, i couldnt stop in time. I am a dog lover and have my own hunting buddy (a 2 1/2 year old golden). I hit the (unleashed) dog. it spun around and under my vehicle and i managed to stop before the back tires went over it.

The dog was still alive and walked very gingerly back to the house with the owner and headed into the emergency vet. i havent been able to contact the owner to see if the dog was ok.

I'm sure you all know too, that you are responsible for your pets under insurance circumstances. over a thousand dollars worth of damages on the vehicle.

Its one of the worst feelings i've ever had, and i would hate for it to happen to anyone else. Please leash your dogs, even before stepping outside.
