Ice fishing accessories for a Lowrance x510c??

BLACKJACK

Recommended Posts

Just bought at Lowrance x510c, mainly for open water use, but now I see that they also sell a kit for ice fishing. The kit includes a transducer, case, battery, charger, and cables. I would use this as a spare for my fishing partner, in a heated house, so I'm not worried about the LCD screen and cold temperatures

1) Has anyone bought the kit and taken their Lowrance out on the ice? How well does it work?

2) The kit isn't cheap, $179, if I could find the right cabling and a transducer, I know I could pick up the battery, case, and charger cheaper. Any thoughts on what cabling I would need?

3) If you have a Lowrance x510c, how do you like it?

They work even in freezing temps. A power cord and transducer can be bought from LEI extras or Dave at profishingsupply can get them for you. The rest you can cobble together on the cheap. I use a blue Genz box for example with a RAM mount ball (I already use a RAM on the boat).
