sig
I am going to get the lund out of storage tomorrow and am a little nervous. I am going to start fishing the river and have always waited for the roads to be dry of spray. Will this destroy my boat? How about the shorelander trailer? I see plenty of nice boats getting trailerd to pool 4 and wonder how they manage this . Thanks for the sdvice.
marine_man
It won't destroy your boat. Aluminum is far less suceptible to corrosion than steel (your trailer). You may want to consider washing your boat / trailer down when you get back from time to time, but I wouldn't sweat it too much.marine_man
SkunkedAgain
It's similar to the analogy about it more being likely to get struck by lightning than eaten by a bear. You're more likely to back the trailer into something or run your boat up on the rocks than it is for the salt to ruin it. Tyler23
it wont ruin it but it may make your trailer start to rust. personally i try to keep my stuff looking as best as i can so i would just suggest spraying the salt off after every use since it only takes a couple minutes. i wouldnt just not use my boat because of salt but keep it clean and it will stay nice. Fishing Junky
I made the mistake one time of taking my boat out of storage without washing it when I got home. It didn't take long for all the rock chips in my trailer to start the rusting phase. I'd make sure you washed the trailer if any road spray hits it. Good luck, Junky..... Charley
Your trailer is whats going to be the problem. After you get home wash your trailer that will help. Its where theirs chips in the paint is where it will rust.
