wheel house question

i will be building a wheel house this summer and i am trying to figure out how much it will cost and what i all need. first where do i get a rubber roof and how much is it? or galvinized? and second where can i get the leaf spring and hub assembly with cranks? mine will with 5x8 with a v-nose. the frame is off a aluma enclosed trailer so its gunna be all aluminum so i can pull it with my ATV. i want something small and easy to pull and move since we also have a 8x18 ice castle. its just to heavy to move around alot but we will still use it for trips up north. this one will be just for spearing and me using around home. any other comments would be great!

Go to any metal dealer and they should have all of the leaf springs, wheels, hubs, and cranks you need. I got all of my stuff from midway iron in st cloud. Leaf springs are actually cheap. I got two 3500# leafs for about 23 dollars a piece. You should be able to find rubber at any menards or home improvement place near you.

how do you build this roof?

I built my roof with a 2/12 sloop on it. All of it was framed with 2x2's, includind the roof. Then I rolled part of a semi trailer roof on top of it and screwed it down with screws that have rubber washers on them. I also caulked the tops of the roof studs. The semi trailer roof is made out of 1/16 inch aluminum, nice and light weight.

You could probably do the same with a rubber roof, just role it out and bend it over the corners to make it nice and tight. I do not know if you would want to screw the rubber though, you might want to ask someone on that, possibly the people at where you but it from what would work best.

Glue your rubber roof...don't have to worry about leaks then.

well i was thinking maybe about using the same panels that i use on the side which is just 1/16 aluminum. will that work well?

that would work, fasten it the same way as you would on the side, it would still be light.
