Finally got my dad out this year

I have been trying to get my dad to come out and catch crappies with me just about the whole season, and finally got the chance. Me and my friend had found a great spot that has been giving us great luck for over a month. This last Saturday night I brought him out and got the shack all set up for him and got him all set up and had a great night on the ice. He really likes catching crappies but he had never caught them on the ice like we did this weekend. We couldn't have asked for a better night. We got out there just in time to get set up and get our lines in the water before the bite started. When it started we had one of the most constant bites I have had out there. I Have never marked fish so solid for so long as that night too. We were in about 32 FOW with the most active ones being about half way down and 3 to 5 feet under the ice. It was fun because it felt like the tables had turned and I was taking him fishing like he did when I was little. I even ended up baiting his hook for him, LOL. But we both ended up with our limit of nice fish, in about 2 hours and had a great fish fry with my grandma with the fish we caught on Sunday.

I got my permanent out last year with the thought of getting my dad, age 73, to go out walleye fishing with me. Right after I got it on the lake he became very ill. He spent 2 weeks in the hospital and passed away. Never did get him out in it.

So I would say to everyone, don't put off doing things you plan on doing in the future. You never know when you won't get that chance. Take your dads, kids, wives out fishing or whatever you'd like to do..... now.
