GPS Lake Software

Looking for some help...

I have a Gamin E-Trex Summit HC, im looking for lake map sw that will show depth contours. Spent some time researching it but i haven't been able to find anything that i can load directly onto my specific model.

There are a few differnt products that i've found that are stricly PC bassed that will generate GPS cordinates. So i've kinda settled on just manualy transfering them to my Garmin SW and syncing it with my hanheld.

Anyone out there use such a product? Looking for one that has mainly MN lakes. Depth contours are really important any experiences with accuracy would be appreciated too!

Thanks!

Is this what you're looking for?

Note from admin, please read forum policy before posting again. Thank you

I checked out the products tab and your model appears.

A little expensive but I've been looking at it for my E-Trex Legend as well, I might go in on it with a buddy.

I hope it works for you.

It doesn't look like you looked hard enough. Go check the HSOforum again.

The CD "disk-compatible" version is compatible with the Etrex Summit HC. This will be a PC software. What you'll find nice about it is that you can view the maps, mark waypoints, create routes, and more from your PC and then select the map sections your interested in, up to the memory limit of your Summit, and then download the maps, waypoints, routes, or whatever to your hand-held.

The link I posted is for the Lakemaster software. It's just the version compatible with Garmin products.

I looked at the "Products Tab" and your E-Trex Summit HC model is listed among the compatible models for the software.

Are you sure yours is not compatible? The site says it is.

I have MN Lakemaster v.3 and I really like it. The lakes that are marked with high detail are extremely accurate. To my understanding they are navigational quality.

My only disappointment is that the software is not upgradeable. In order for me to upgrade to the latest v.5 I have to purchase v.5 at the full price. That kind of sucks and I have let them know of my issue.

One thing I found out about garmin softwareis that they dont want to replace it. I have a 162 which the software would work with the old e trex. Switch comeputers and could not down load it again. All I got out of them is will sell a new one. The mapping was nice and fun to play with. In the end they I did have one and would not work with me. So it was lowrance.

I haven't had that problem yet. The Lakemaster software is protected by an electronic key that only allows downloading to a specific GPS unit. You get two keys so you can download to two different units.

When I switched computers I copied the unlock code for my Rino120 from my old PC to the same folder in my new one after I installed my Mapsource software to my new one and that worked fine.

Found this on Lakemasters HSOforum; "Previous LakeMaster software customers can get our 2008 Contour Pro Minnesota Edition at a reduced price, click the Upgrade button to find out more."

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
