Vent Rib Question

TV BOY

Recommended Posts

I'd take it to a gunsmith or leave it alone. I learned the hard way trying to fix a simple problem on a benelli. I created a totally new problem - which cost 3x the money to fix, than if I had just taken it in.

good luck

jlm,
I had a similar problem:
Take a small / medium sized, flat blade screwdriver and wrap the end with a little duct tape. Insert the blade in between the rib and the barrel, right in the middle of where the dent is and ever so gently give it a little twist. This will lift the ventilated rib back into position. The tape prevents the blade from digging into or scratching the barrel.

Hey guys-
I have a question about my VR on my BPS. I somehow put a pretty good sized dent in it about half way down. It is not a sharp dent but more of a slow dent if you know what I mean. The VR does not come in contact with the barrel however and it does not effect the shooting performance. I am still curious as to how I did it? Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this or should I just take it to a gunsmith? Or should I just leave it? Your suggestions would be very helpful!
