Good shootin' Ex! What kind of bow are you shooting? I have shot leagues in the past and it is a blast. It will make everyone a much more confident and accurate bowhunter without question. One of these days when I get more time I would really like to get back into it, its a blast. I would recommend it to anyone!!!

After taking off a few years from archery(college got in the way) I started shooting again this last year. I shoot league in Hutchinson and have a 59.75X average on the NFAA 5 spot. My tournament scores are averaging 56-57X's due to tournament pressure and nerves. I have to learn to hold steady again in tournament situations.

For indoors I shoot a:
Hoyt Protec w/LXPRO limbs set at 60 lbs
NAP QT 3000 arrow rest
X7-2613 arrows and 200 grain points
HT 2000 release
Bull's Eye PRO scope w/NUVIS lens and a ring for aiming
Toxonics Naildriver sight
5 Star Genesis stabilizer
Custom backweight
This bow helped me win 4th place in the championship flights at Las Vegas this last February.

For outdoors:
Hoyt Ultratec w/XT3000 limbs at 55 lbs
NAP QT 3000 arrow rest
ACC 3-49 arrows w/ 2" duravanes
Bull's Eye PRO scope w/NUVIS lens and a dot for aiming
Sureloc challenger sight
5 Star Genesis stabilizer
Custom backweight

On outdoor fields last summer at our NFAA field course I was shooting a 556 average with the Ultratec.

Thanks Exudedude

After shooting 50X's I had to work on small form issues. When first starting archery I was using my forearm and biceps and too many other muscles to name. I found in archery I needed to remove as many muscles as possible to steady up the sight picture. After that it was completely mental. I've had friends poke me in the back with an arrow while I was at full draw... I was concentrating so hard on the center of the X that I never realized they did it until they told me after the shot!!! Your mind is the biggest thing to overcome in tournament archery... if it wonders and thinks about other things besides the dead center of that X you are in for a dissapointing day.

Is anyone going to shoot the MSAA state tournament in a few weeks?

I am very willing to help people in archery either hunting, shooting for fun, or for tournament shooting. As time permits I have also done some coaching 1 on 1 at our local archery range. If anyone has questions just let me know and I will help out the best I can.
