Thanks everyone!! It's truley amazing to harvest a mature buck of any sort and I am truley lucky to hunt in an area that holds mature deer year after year and have a chance everytime I sit to at least see a deer of this caliber or bigger.

This deer came on a morning sit in a funnel area adjacent to a feeding area, oak ridge, that connects to a familiar bedding area. Bucks slip this funnel regularly on either side of a draw as the cruise back and forth. I was hunting this area for a main frame 10 with two matching kickers and seen him twice out of range the week prior to seeing this deer. This buck came into the funnel and stopped to check a scent trail I ran perpendicular to the trail he used. The deer looked away and the rest is history.

The buck isnt the biggest I have harvested but it still surely got my blood pumping!! And this is why I continue to hunt.

It scored mid 160's gross. I hunt northern Bayfield County along Lake Superior.
