Hookmaster
Last night the "low coolant light" came on in my daughters car a 1995 Mercury Sable with 96,000 miles. It came on as we were leaving the house so the car wasn't warmed up yet. I will check into it tomorrow. Other than making sure the radiator and reservoir are filled to their proper levels, what else should I check?
Jeremy airjer W
Top it off and check for any visible signs of leaks. The areas around the radiator tanks and water pumps are pretty common this time of year. Make sure the hose clamps are tight! You would be surprised how many times you can fix a coolant leak with a quick tightening of all the clamps!!
Scott K
If the coolant in the resevoir is full them it will be a bad switch. The switch that turns the light on is on the resevoir. Now if it is low, then the coolant is going somewhere, radiator, hoses? If it is a 3.8, head gaskets are very comon!
