Alright guys, now that I actually have somewhat of a good idea of what I'm doing thanks to the practice I got last year, thanks for your help by the way, when do you guys normally start hittin the river for flatheads? I know it's a few months off, just wondering though!

Water temps usually need to be in the mid-50's for action to start heating up. There are usually some fish caught before that, but not too many. Most years that means early to mid-May. Don't get too frustrated early in the year though. It can be pretty sporadic. Different bodies of water (i.e. Mississippi versus Minnesota versus St. Croix) seem to turn on at different times, too.
