The_Duckslayer
If there is not a picture somewhere under the hood of how the serpentine belt goes save yourself some time and draw one up before you take the old belt off. I took one off once and did not get back to work on the vehicle for a couple days and man, it took a while to get it wrapped in there correctly! Scott K
Also a digital camera and a quick picture can help alot as well!
Eckie
Wandering and Jimbo --I was just thinking about this last night...and now I'll be sure to take a few pictures with the digital before I take the belt off...Great advice! On a side note -- I'm extremely surprised at the difference in price from several Ford dealers I've called -- almost $100 difference on the same Motorcraft alternator! ChuckN
I think someone mentioned this a re-build..When I had my 5.4L F150 my alternator went bad and I had it re-built by a local auto electric shop. IIRC, it was like $85? Much cheaper than new or unknown re-man. May want to check it out?
