can it be luck?
You may go there if you were driving and had your boat, but just like the last 10 years or so, we'll be taking MY BOAT opening day! But I think we'll do as always, Nokomis before the sun's up, hit the 3-5' stump flats with bobbers, hook, and minnow. After that it'll be by the hwy Y bridge for a little fishing around the current/bridge area once the sun's up. Then Bradley Dam for a couple hours, if I can deal with the crowds. Then I have a few "tricks up my sleeve" for some afternoon crappie. But Big Arbor Vitae will definitly be on the list! Then back to Nokomis for the evening walleye bite. Sheeew!! That sounds like another Loooong day, again! Oh well, that's openers for ya, wouldn't miss it for the world!! 6 days and counting! I can't wait to finally "wet a line"........like I haven't caught enough fish this spring already! ------------------http://groups.msn.com/canitbeluck [This message has been edited by can it be luck? Guest
I'll be in the Spooner area what do you think water temps will be? Are you seeing fish in the shallows yet? I like to c n r bass on opener...should I stick to walleyes?
can it be luck?
wgmsa, I never fished that area, so I couldn't give you any tips. What I've noticed as far as lm bass are concerned, most bass will be in very shallow warm water bays. I fish a little lake around the Minoqua area the first couple of weeks in the season. The back bays(1-3 fow) are loaded with bass, and sight fishing can be a blast! I can give you a couple of leads as far as that area if interested.Take care, MarkPS: Hammer em', LOL! Hurry up and get out this way for some fitchin! ------------------http://groups.msn.com/canitbeluck
Guest
Thanks Mark but we're booked at a spot in Spooner. I think it's going to be a tough bite if it's cold. Too bad the 80's aren't sticking around. Might have to hit Clam. Or just fish for walleyes. Fish feed sounds cool I may hit that. Any word on a panfish bite? Looking for a Friday lake between Cumberland and Spooner. G_man
I'll be with my Dad in a 17' brown-ish Yarcraft. Full windshield, 80 HP Merc motor. Boat is from the late '80s.Probably start with pitching jigs and/or minnows/ringworms along the NE shoreline. Might troll the west shoreline, midlake and south. We are staying in the cabins owned in conjunction with the supper club. Robert Eorl's is the name of the supper club I think.Hope for the best! Hope to see you out there, unfortunately there isn't an FM sticker on the boat.
