Vex Magnifier Cover on a LX-5?

Have any of you modified the clear magnifier cover sold for Vexilar to fit your Marcum LX-5? If so how did you do it?

I recently changed to a LX-5 but I do miss that cover I had on my FL8. The clear covers do not fit on a Marcum, but are pretty close. If you've taken that cover to sandpaper and reamed it out to fit the Marcum let me know how successful you were. Thanks.

I have heard of people using a dremmel and cutting away the small nubs in the shield and then soaking the shield in hot water so that is expands then then put it on the flasher.
