Strike master mag III not running right

Well here's my problem,

was out ice fishing with my dad last weekend and it drilled the first 6 holes just fine. Then about an hour later, we drilled some more and still was working perfect.

an hour after that, we put more gas in and after the first 2 holes the engine would idle fine but then when i throtled it up, it would [PoorWordUsage] out. Went home and poored the gas out, put some new gas in and still worked bad.

Anyone have any opinions on what might be going on here?

i want to go out ice fishing tonight but can't because of this.

HELP PLEASE!!!

thanks,

Jordyn

One other suggestion if nothing has worked yet. I've got a 15 yr old mag III and I've had the same problem. First try turning the needle adjustment on the carb all the way in, counting the amount of 1/2 turns as you go so you can back it out to the original position. This may free up the oraface if there is something clogging it. If that does'nt work adjust the needle by 1/8 turns to the left. If it works you won't have as nice an idle but there will be lots of power through the whole column of ice. I'm not a mechanic but this has worked for me in the past

when my dad took it apart, the govner spring came out and we dont w=know where it goes back in..

can someone tell me were this goes?

There are some small engine websites that allow you to look at the full engine schematics without having to buy the service manual (Milaca Lawn and Garden HSOforum is one). You just need the model number off the engine probably stamped on a little tag on the block somewhere. The schematic should give you a good picture of where the spring goes.

If we have the same model the govenor spring slides over the govenor screw which is threaded into the carb.
