I have a sportDOG e-collar. For the first 6 months, it worked great. Now, for the last 4 months or so it doesn't seem to be working. I test it on myself (on low level) and it works. However when I have it on my dog, she doesn't flinch. this has become very annoying to say the least. I can put it on for a full charge and still doesn't seem to work on her. I feel like I have it on tight enough and I sure don't want to choke her, but can anybody offer any suggestions? thanks.

I had a similiar issue with my SportDog e-collar two years ago. Ended up buying a DogTra and have not had an issue since.

no problems with mine going on two years. I would call sport dog.

Buy a Dogtra or Tritronics.

I am sure Sport Dog customer service can help you.....but I have heard of similar issues with those collars many...many times!

Are the contact nodes on the collar long enough? What kind of a dog do you have? The winter coat could be insulating the neck more than in the fall or summer.

That is what I thought at first, about the contacts so I bought the longer ones on the HSOforum..I will call sportDOG or just exchange it at cabelas...they exchange everything.

I had the same prob with mine. went to gander and they said you will need new batteries even though its rechargable. its like a cell phone you need to drain them before recharging.easier said though espec. when you have roosters running on you and the dogs right behind them.

Dogtra rocks. Easy to use and not a problem in 8 years with my shocker/beeper model
