Boji/Spirit snow cover

At least your Chevy did better than the Ford that helped me the first time. We found fish, just all little ones. BTW the camera worked great. I think the 15 cold fronts this month finaly shut things down. I do know I'll have a full sized pick up by next season grin

I got pulled off Emerson this morning by some nice guys from NE. The snow was bad. I moved to Spirit and plowed Angler's for about 5 hours.

I met some nice guys that helped get the ramp cleared out. If you have a good 4x4 and a shovel, you can get on Spirit from Angler's.

I had horrid luck on West, couple small eyes and one northern. As soon as I dropped back on Spirit I was back on aggressive fish.

Good to hear your back in the action and thanks for keeping the access cleared. We're planning on hitting west again in the morning there are too many fish for me to not atleast try for awhile we did find some good weeds but not much for fish on the camera im planning on taking a closer look at that again tomorrow if your interested you know where I'll be and I'll have the rope ready.

The day of the outing Spirit was marginable in my opinion. I thought that I was going to get stuck in Minnewalkan park trying to get to the lake. Once on the lake it was deep. It wouldn't have taken much to get stuck. I stayed close to the group and the road out there. I would have to think that it is tougher now. I have a wretling tournament and plan on going around here Monday.

I agree, Spirit is marginal at best. I got stuck several times today but I did manage to get my perm moved back out to Cottonwood.

PP, I would love to join you tomorrow but I have to head to Des Moines at 3 AM for work. I was on fish on West but I just couldn't get them to committ. This spot on Spirit is still good.

Guys are starting to pick up crappies in Angler's also.

Bad thing about yesterday with the wind even once you got a trail broke it would drift back in just as fast. I know I should be out but I think I found the limit of what my truck will make it through. Now I'm limited to 1 or 2 places to go. Wife told me yesterday it's time I get back into a real truck, so I'll be shopping for a full sized Chevy here soon. Then I can get stuck even deeper grin

I came off Spirit this morning with no problems. The wind blew most of the light snow off. There was another guy with a 4 wheeler plowing out the access this morning so it should be pretty easy to get out. If you need to borrow the sled if you can't just give me shout. I just gassed it up this morning.

I met some great folks yesterday and while I was plowing the ramp I lost my cell phone somewhere in the snow. I had to go use a pay phone. My wife got a call from a stranger this morning, said they found my phone and would drop it off at Kabels. The weekend didn't turn out so bad after all.

Stay on the path on Millers and Emerson on West Lake. If you get off the path, for heavens sake, don't stop! There are some good sized drifts out there!

I have heard similar on heading out to Stoney on Big Spirit. But can't say first hand.

I can agree to getting stuck deeper with a full size. I about did the weekend of the outing. A little shy about heading back for a while. Storm Lake has drivable ice now. See if I can't get stuck there.
